Micah 7:7-8 - Our hope

Scripture:

Micah 7:7-8
7 But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me.
8 Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy.
Though I fall I will rise;
Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.
NASU

Thoughts:

These verses could be a prayer offered by Christians in our world, today.  We too are surrounded by spiritual enemies and mocked (verse 8a), but our hope is in the Lord!  Even if our life is taken, He has us in His care.  Amidst the darkest trial, He remains our light.

Prayer:

I thank You God, that Your eye has not left Your people, no matter how bleak our surroundings may appear.  As evil men hated (and hate) You, so they hate us.

But thank You that we don't live for this world or its approval.  Our home is secure with You!

Amen
