Acts 6:7 - Sharing Christ with the "unreachable"

Scripture:

Acts 6:7
7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.
NASU

Thoughts:

This verse is encouraging to see more people getting saved, but it's particularly wonderful to see Jewish priests coming to Christ.  These men would have much to lose as a result.  Indeed, their very profession as priests (had they been allowed to stay) was no longer necessary, since Christ provided the final and only sufficient sacrifice.

This encourages me, because often we think of religious leaders of other faiths as being unreachable.  Being so immersed in their false beliefs, it can seem impossible for them to come to the truth.  However, if they sincerely desire to know the truth, and aren't just con-men, they above all else in their faith will recognize the emptiness of their beliefs.  How the answers their faith provides are found wanting compared to the absolute truths of Christ and His word.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray for those steeped in false faiths.  I pray I'd share with them no matter their position, as You guide me.  Don't allow a person's title or religious position to keep me from sharing the gospel with them.

Free these men and women from the shackles Satan has on them.  Let them know peace with You, through Your perfect sacrifice.  And thank You that I have come to know this peace.  In Christ's name.

Amen
